Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley: iconic Goblin filming site

If you’ve watched Goblin and absolutely love the drama, you might be familiar with this iconic yellow bookstore featured in the show. This is none other than Hanmi Bookstore (한미서점)!

It’s one of the secondhand bookstores located in Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley.

Unfortunately, this alley is not in Seoul. Fortunately, it’s in Incheon, which is about an hour away via Seoul Subway. I took a bus from one of the nearest subway stations, Dong Incheon Station, just one stop ahead of Incheon Station. Both stations are on Line 1.

The directions on KTO’s website are a little vague which caused us to end up getting lost. Fortunately, a kind cashier in GS25 gave us directions. She probably does this very often because everyone comes to this place to look for the same bookstore.

From what I recall, it is only 1 stop away from the bus stop opposite Dong Incheon station. But best to check the bus stop information board carefully! I would also recommend asking some of the shop owners nearby, because they most likely get asked quite often as well.

Other than taking lots of photographs here, do take the time to appreciate these little books placed outside.

The books are all typed in Korean, so you may find it difficult to understand the content. I still find the book covers very lovely to feel and touch!

Of course, there are other bookstores located in Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley besides Hanmi. Unfortunately during my visit, many of them were doing stocktaking so I couldn’t go in to take a look. However, if you are lucky enough, you might be able to go in and even buy a book to your liking!

As lovely as this place is for Goblin fans, it is admittedly far to get to from Seoul and not everyone’s cup of tea.

I would recommend this as a stop if you happen to be in Incheon for a day trip / short trip.

Nonetheless, this is not a place that you should specially go to visit unless you are a hardcore Goblin fan. There are, in fact, a few other filming locations in Seoul as well for you to consider visiting (ಠ‿ಠ)

About Me

Hi! I’m Tofu V from Singapore.

My love for Korea stemmed from a love of K-pop and K-dramas that started more than a decade ago. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Korea both as a tourist and a student. I’ve accumulated interesting experiences (mostly good, occasionally bad) along the way as I try my best to see as much of Korea as possible, and this blog is an accumulation of all that I’ve learned and tried.
