Jeju Olle Naengmyeon: comforting Korean cuisine in Jeju

, , ,

Back in 2017, my friends and I went to Jeju on a whim (sort of).

We had no planned itinerary, and had even less idea of where we should eat at. It turned out not to be a bad thing after all because we discovered so many unexpectedly amazing eats along the way, including Jeju Olle Naengmyeon!

We were actually looking for a black pork KBBQ restaurant but ended up at Jeju Olle Naengmyeon. It was right in the thick of summer, which made it perfect for eating naengmyeon (as per my friend’s order) – but there’s also never a bad time to eat pork soup!

What to eat at Jeju Olle Naengmyeon

Most people actually come here to eat naengmyeon or one of their 12 seafood stews (oops).

However, I wasn’t much of a seafood fan and I had enough naengmyeon, so I wanted to try something else.

Pork soup

Piping hot soup paired with extra cold Hite beer? Yes please!

The soup was the right amount of salty – I especially appreciated the generous amount of spring onions and meat that they added for a highly satisfying meal.

While their banchan was slightly lacking in quantity, they made up for it with quality. The radish kimchi, in particular, was spicy but highly addictive.

This restaurant is located just 10 minutes away from the airport, but we stopped over here at one of the Jeju City Tour bus stops (I believe it’s Black Pork Restaurant Street). We then walked a short distance before chancing upon Jeju Olle Naengmyeon.

Either way, if you’re craving for some hot stews before or after your flight at Jeju Airport, this is the restaurant to get your fill!

  1. Nice post, this reminds me of how I almost made it to Jeju during my extensive wanderings around China and (less extensive) Korea. The food looks fantastic, well captured.

  2. Thanks for following my blog.

About Me

Hi! I’m Tofu V from Singapore.

My love for Korea stemmed from a love of K-pop and K-dramas that started more than a decade ago. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Korea both as a tourist and a student. I’ve accumulated interesting experiences (mostly good, occasionally bad) along the way as I try my best to see as much of Korea as possible, and this blog is an accumulation of all that I’ve learned and tried.
