Other than visiting vantage points such as Haedong Yonggungsa Temple for the best sea views in Busan, there are three major skywalks that you can also visit for equally stunning views.
Oryukdo Skywalk is one of them, whereas the other two are Songdo and Cheongsapo Daritol.
Opened in 2013, Oryukdo Skywalk is located at the end of a 35m-long coastal cliff. It is famous for the clear bulletproof glass floor that looks down at the sea. The glass allows you to view the beautiful blue waters off the coast of Oryukdo Islets, where the East Sea meets the South Sea!
Plus point: This was the filming location of the movie Haeundae!
What to see at Oryukdo Skywalk
I came here in winter, so you can imagine the cold sea breeze that hit us in the face. It nearly froze my face off, but the scenery was absolutely worth it.
Walking on glass might not sound like a great idea initially, especially if you are afraid of heights, but this is a lot safer than you think. It’s also a pretty short stretch that you can stop along to take photos.
You will be required to put on some protective sleeve over your shoes in order to walk on the skywalk so as not to dirty the glass, but other than that, all you need to do is walk normally and enjoy the scenery.

On the skywalk, you get to see Oryukdo Island, which is designated as Korea’s National Cultural Heritage Scenic Spot No.24.
As you can see from the photos, there is a whole stretch of azure blue sea, which looks even more gorgeous in real life.

I imagine that the sea breeze would be a lovely wind in the summer, so that may be a better time to head to the Oryukdo Skywalk.
Do take note though, that even though admission is free (yes! free!) it operates on a first come, first served / 120 people max, so I would suggest going there early.
It also tends to get a little crowded on the weekends and holidays, as that is when many people from Seoul would head down to Busan to have a short getaway. Hence, I highly recommend coming here on the weekdays so that you don’t have to wait too long for your turn to get on the skywalk.
