Having afternoon tea (or coffee!) is one of the best things you can do in Jeonju. There is no lack of cafés in Jeonju Hanok Village for you to take an afternoon break. The only problem is deciding where to go!
While strolling around the village, we spotted this beautiful spot called Ireuri Cafe. The cafe is in a nicely refurbished traditional house, with a few outhouses and courtyard garden.

It was very crowded when we got there. I’m guessing it’s partly due to the high rating on Naver Maps (4.46 stars from almost 11k visitors!).
Funnily enough, if you check Ireuri Cafe on Naver Maps, most reviewers only make mention of the nice decor and how it is a beautiful place to take photos. They’re not wrong though!

I grabbed a photo of Ireuri Cafe’s menu from Naver Maps, but do note that it doesn’t include their coffee options and may not be the most updated.
They also have a policy where you need to order at least one drink per person, which is common practice in Korea’s F&B establishments.

We weren’t feeling particularly peckish, just a little thirsty. Hence, we only ordered the Korea medicinal herb & jojobe tea and what I vaguely remember being milk tea:

The drinks weren’t particularly outstanding, but extremely expensive!
I suppose they charge extra for the Instagrammable café ambience, which was really pretty nice. They also don’t chase away customers who sit in the premises for too long, which can be common in very popular F&B places if they need to clear the spot for other customers.
They also serve desserts, which are more affordable and actually look very delicious. You can consider ordering these instead of their drinks!
While the cafe is undeniably beautiful and is the perfect space to take a rest from walking around Jeonju Hanok Village, paying close to USD 10 for an ordinary drink is a stretch. I highly recommend checking out other cafés or teahouses nearby if all you need is a drink!
