When we went to Jeju for our honeymoon, we opted to stay in a beautiful Airbnb. We had initially shortlisted some cheaper options on Airbnb.
However, many of these were small apartments where you have to share the house or building with a few other travellers. We had planned for the Jeju honeymoon to be a good escape and rest from our hectic lives and wanted to do slow living in a place with more privacy, so we struck them out.
In the end, we fell in love with a listing in Pyeongdae Village that offers a breathtaking extended sea view, with a full house to ourselves. I don’t exaggerate when I say that the Airbnb was truly one of the best highlights of our trip!

Why we loved Ma Maison
Tastefully designed in Scandinavian style
The interior was exactly what I loved in a cosy home. It was also very interesting because the exterior was built with stone in the traditional Jeju style, but the interior was built with wood. This made for a very interesting contrast.
The Airbnb’s interior design is so well thought-out that our host has actually given a magazine interview before to share the building and design process. You can read it here!

Located in a quiet fishing village
This was an experience we would not possibly have gotten in bustling cities like Seoul. It also meant we could wake up everyday to the best sea views, and enjoy fresh seafood from the restaurants nearby.

The spectacular views outside our Airbnb were what really motivated us to wake up and get out everyday (oops).

Well-furnished
The host provided everything we could and would possibly need, which was very thoughtful!
While there were a few convenience stores located around the village, shopping was very limited and we would have to drive quite a fair bit to get to any decent-sized market.
Thankfully, this Jeju Airbnb was furnished with a Nespresso machine, Balmuda toaster & kettle, record player, and also a good-sized fridge. We were almost tempted to stay in everyday!

Good & reliable heating
This comes in especially useful in the cold, blustering winters of Jeju. I’ve never appreciated heating as much until I came back to a warm & toasty Airbnb every night haha.
Thoughtful touches from host
Our friendly Airbnb host prepared wine & cheese for us after knowing that we were there for a honeymoon. She also prepared a great guide on restaurants in the vicinity, which came in handy, especially when we were caught in the snow flurries and couldn’t travel far.
Not without its downsides…
The Airbnb is located in a quiet village, hence getting here by public transportation is close to impossible. Even taxis are hard to come by, especially after 9pm.
You’ll have to get here by rented car, but the good news is that there is a parking lot available right at the back of the garden. If you’re planning a trip to Jeju, do consider booking this amazing Airbnb!
While I’m unable to share the exact address (host will provide this once your booking is confirmed), this is the link to the Airbnb listing. The host is very kind and friendly so feel free to enquire anything, especially if you need special arrangements!
If the Airbnb is fully booked during your vacation dates, you can still consider booking other similar rustic village stays here!
