Hong Kong has no shortage of activities to offer its visitors of all ages. Hiking, visiting Disneyland, water parks, exploring nature, and many more fun activities will keep you entertained, regardless of age. Apart from activities to do, the delicious food and captivating culture of Hong Kong will embrace you with a warm hug. The mesmerising beauty, coupled with fun activities, will leave you wanting more. Get ready for a blast of fun on these Hong Kong Holidays from the UK.
Disneyland
I have yet to meet a person who does not like Disneyland. Your trip to Hong Kong isn’t truly complete until you visit Disneyland there. You’ll meet all the bubbly Disney characters, and the live shows and parades at the park are an experience in themselves. The place features over 100 attractions and rides suitable for all ages, ensuring a joy-filled experience. There is also a marketplace named Karibuni Marketplace, where you can shop for souvenirs.
Ocean Park
Ocean Park in Hong Kong is the perfect blend of fun and education, suitable for all ages. It’s a popular attraction among both locals and tourists. It boasts one of the world’s largest aquariums, offering both educational and entertaining experiences. You can also interact with the different animals there. There’s a cool program called the Honorary Panda Keeper Program, which allows you to interact with the pandas. The adrenaline rush you’ll get on the rides is reason enough to visit.
Victoria Peak
A perfect spot for taking postcard-worthy photos for the whole family. You can walk around the entire circle to capture different scenery for your pictures. There is a shopping area, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Monopoly Dreams, restaurants, and many other attractions. To get to the very top, you’ll have to take a peak tram. There you can see the amazing 360-degree panoramic view of the China Sea and the whole city.
Ngong Ping 360
The cable car ride at Ngong Ping 360 is an ideal activity to sit back and enjoy the stunning views. I’d recommend booking a glass floor ride to enjoy the spectacular views of the South China Sea, Lantau Country Park, Po Lin Monastery, and the Tian Tan Buddha. You can also enjoy a great walk along the Wisdom Path. There you’ll find many wooden steles displaying prayers, which is great for photos.
Victoria Harbor
Sailing in Victoria Harbour is a one-of-a-kind experience due to its breathtaking scenery as you embark on your journey. The sunlight at different times of day, as you sail across the water, only enhances the experience. Finally, at night, you’ll see a harmonious display of lights and sound shows arising from approximately 400 skyline buildings on both sides of the harbour.
Ferry Ride to Islands
Both kids and adults enjoy a good boat ride. You can take the Star Ferry, Duk Ling, Aqua Luna, go dolphin watching, or visit an island via ferry. There are many popular islands in Hong Kong. Cheung Chau is renowned for its annual Bun Festival. Lamma is another grand peninsula famous for its fantastic beach and fresh seafood, and is a perfect place to relax and bond with family over fishing. A visit to Ma Wan Island to watch the walk of elephants and giraffes from Noah’s ark is a sight to see. Emirates, Turkish Airlines, and Qatar Airways offer convenient flights and remarkable experiences.
Go Toy Shopping and Browse the Market
There’s a street in Sham Shui Po where you can find affordable toys, gadgets, and school supplies. Browsing through the market, you’ll find a variety of other items, including clothes, accessories, and decorative items. Tai Yuen Street and Pottinger Street are other great markets where you’ll find a wide range of toys, accessories, gifts, and clothing.
Museums
The Hong Kong Science Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of History offer a range of engaging activities to enjoy. The Hong Kong Science Museum features over 500 exhibits on display, including a showcase of Cathay Pacific’s first DC-3 airliner. The Hong Kong Museum of History is a great educational destination for the whole family, offering fun, hands-on activities for kids where they can express themselves.
Hong Kong Park
This park is a great place to reconnect with nature and experience the calm this oasis has to offer. Tai Chi in the children’s play area is a relaxing activity to do in the park. You can also take guided tours, go bird-watching, participate in a scavenger hunt, and explore the entire park.
Conclusion
These are just a few holiday activities for families in Hong Kong. There’s plenty more to explore there. Every day and in every location, you will encounter a new experience. The great street food, adventurous activities, stunning scenery, and amazing culture will fill your heart and mind with the best memories of your life.
