Daegu E-World: Budget theme park worth the visit

So you’ve heard of Lotte World in Seoul and Everland in Yongin, but how about E-World in Daegu?

Frankly I can’t remember why my friends and I thought it would be a good idea to spend 1 day here. It just happened that way and we had to research for things to do in Daegu. The first suggestion that popped out was Daegu E-World and 83 Tower (which is in -World).

If I’m not wrong, we purchased our tickets from Trazy and we intentionally bought the pass to visit E-world after 5pm as it was cheaper. We paid about S$20+ per person for tickets, which was honestly much more affordable than the theme parks in & near Seoul.

I would love to have said that I was immediately drawn in by E-World but the truth was that I was a little disappointed when we first saw the place.

It certainly had none of the grandeur and wow factor commonly associated with theme parks. It made us wonder if booking tickets to this place was a mistake.

As you can see from the photos, the place is very empty and there aren’t many visitors around. A far cry from the packed and noisy environment of Lotte World!

The decorations weren’t bad but just… not very exciting?

Nonetheless, we tried our best to keep an open mind.

The first ride we went on (actually requested by yours truly) was none other than the carousel. We were 23 year-old adults having way too much fun on this than we anticipated. The rest of the people on the rides were kids and their parents…

Shortly after this, we actually had a go at the pirate ship, was was simultaneously the most exciting but also the most FRIGHTENING amusement park ride of my life. For some reason the ship just kept going higher and higher, and when it reached its peak I was so paralysed by fear that I could not even scream.

10/10 would not recommend if you have a fear of heights!!

On the bright side, because we entered E-World after 5pm, the sun started to set and the light decorations actually made the place look much better than it did in the day.

We stopped to grab dinner and this udon was actually very delicious! Can’t remember exactly how much it costs but I remember thinking this was pretty decent.

After dinner we went to 83 Tower to give ourselves some time to digest dinner. Along thee way we saw the dreaded Yanolja Sky Drop. Thankfully we convinced ourselves that we did NOT want to try that out right after eating.

We didn’t go on many rides but there was one that did look exciting because it was in the dark. This water ride goes up & down and eventually you get splashed with a good dose of water. I imagine this would be very refreshing in the summer!

The light-up at night made the entire theme park look much better. It was also considerably livelier – I presume because most people bought the after-5pm entrance ticket to save costs.

Although we didn’t get to try many rides as the park closed at 10pm, I thought that this was not as bad as I initially thought.

While it does lack the boisterous environment of popular theme parks, E-World being relatively emptier works in your advantage. You don’t have to queue to get on the best rides, and don’t have to pay for an express pass!

I would recommend giving this theme park a try if you’re in Daegu and don’t have anything planned. Although if you ask me, I personally don’t think I’ll make a trip here again!
