Jeju Food Guide – Cafes, Restaurants, Markets

We shortlisted some cafes to visit before our Jeju trip, but ended up visiting most of these F&B places from scouring Naver Maps for top-rated food.

This was partially because many places ended up being closed or inaccessible as a result of the snow flurries. We realised that many places close especially early in winter, so do take note if you’re planning a winter trip to Jeju!

I thought it might be useful to pull together a Jeju food guide to introduce all the different mouthwatering cuisines available on the island, from trendy cafés to local restaurants.

Will do a more detailed review for some of the places we really loved and what to order to maximise your stomach space and Korean won. In the meantime, do find below my Jeju food guide + a brief rating & review!

CAFES

Biyangnol (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

I was initially worried that we would tire of eating the scones but nope, they were really addictive.

I also really like that they also served butter and jam on the side – exactly how you would eat your scones. Personally, I enjoyed the plain butter and matcha flavours the most. But even if you’re not a big fan of these, they still have other flavours in store that you can check out!

Strongly recommend coming to Biyangnol for the views and the tasty & thoughtfully-made food! I know for sure I’ll certainly come back next time ~

Address: South Korea, Jeju-do, Jeju-si, 특별자치도, KR 한림읍 한림읍 수원리 965

Osulloc Tea Museum (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

If you’re a big fan of both tea and tea-flavoured desserts, you must check out the Osulloc café within the museum.

The menu focuses heavily on green tea, while also serving Jeju specialties such as hallabong (Jeju tangerine).

Forget all those yucky, watered-down matcha foods you’ve eaten before, because the ones they serve at Osulloc Tea Museum are really so good.

You can definitely taste the comforting, mellow green tea flavours in here. Some places think that more is good, so they pack a whole punch of matcha taste in your food and you get too overwhelmed.

Address: 15 Sinhwayeoksa-ro, 특별자치도, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea

Innisfree Jeju House (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Their bentos and picnic sets were honestly so tasty that I wished they opened in Singapore too.

Prices were also on par with Singapore cafe prices but the food was much more substantial so highly recommend!

Address: Innisfree Jeju House: 425, Sinhwayeoksa-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

The Brunch Concept (⭐⭐⭐)

Pretty standard brunch fare served at The Brunch Concept, but the. setmeal is honestly worth the price!

We dropped by here mostly because we couldn’t find much else to eat along the way.

Address: Jeju-do Seogwipo-si Sangye-dong 3578-3

Seogwipean Bakery (⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Interior & views at Seogwipean Bakery were TOP NOTCH.

Their pastries were actually quite tasty. I personally prefer their savoury bites to the dessert breads, but do note that they tend to be a little pricey!

Address: 17 2F Sinyang-ro 122beon-gil, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea

Antoinette Bakery (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Antoinette Bakery offers good views and really good brunch options – arguably the best brunch we had in Jeju.

Prices were cheaper than that of cafes in Singapore too!

Pastries-wise, I loved the Hallabong Pandoro as a dessert option! I didn’t really enjoy the camellia-looking pastry – I forgot what went into it other than sweet potato. The drinks (matcha latte and cafe latte) were pretty good as well. But I did feel a little full after finishing my drinks.

Address: 37 Chilsimni-ro 214beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea

RESTAURANTS

Pyeongdae Abalone (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

You can tell that their abalone is really fresh and it made all the difference. Also considerably cheap!

Address: Jeju-do Jeju-si Gujwa-eup Pyeongdae-ri 515-9

Seongsaneul Bon Braised Cutlassfish Grill (⭐⭐⭐)

The spicy mackerel stew was quite addictive to eat in the cold weather but picking out the multiple bones from the fish semi ruined the eating experience haha.

Address: Jeju-do Seogwipo-si Seongsan-eup Seongsan-ri 296-3

Sol Dongsan Meat Noodle Soup (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Half dry meat noodles and half soup noodles make a WHOLE FANTASTIC MEAL!

I overheard another customer exclaiming that the noodles were so good after she finished her meal, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Address: Jeju-do Seogwipo-si Seogwi-dong 724-5

Gaejeong Jeju Nohyeong Branch (⭐⭐⭐⭐)

I don’t typically look out for bibimbap in any city other than Jeonju, and hadn’t found any that was worth recommending. Hence, I was quite surprised to find good Jeonju bibimbap in Jeju!

This really satisfied my craving with the right amount of crunch in the ingredients, topped by the most delicious gochujang sauce.

Address: Jeju-do Jeju-si Nohyeong-dong 728-1

Bondon (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Bondon was a random Naver Maps find that we LOVED!

Both my travel companion & I are not huge fans of pork but this pork KBBQ really blew our minds. I used to think I was more of a beef person – now I know I just haven’t had good black pork in Jeju.

We highly recommend ordering a mix of black pork belly and white pork belly!

Address: Jeju-do Seogwipo-si Seogwi-dong 255-13

MARKETS

Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

The street food selection here in Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market is very good with a lot of interesting Jeju-only eats!

I highly recommend this particular stall called Jeseong Bakery. They sold hot buns in so many appetising flavours, including gourmet butter red bean, black pork, green onion cream cheese, and black pork octopus?!

The bun itself was the right amount of hot and chewy, but the real highlight was the filling!! The pulled cheese was so, so good. The black pork was also very tasty! I also really liked that they gave a generous portion of chilli sauce to dip our buns in.

Dongmun Market (⭐⭐⭐)

Dongmun Market has been revamped recently (I think) and now features quite an eyewatering amount of street food here as well.

However, I’m not a big fan of the type of street food you can find here. You can get dumplings, overpriced lobsters, marshmallows and whatnot. It reminds me a lot of Myeongdong‘s street food, which is not exactly great.

This black pork cutlet ball was good though!

About Me

Hi! I’m Tofu V from Singapore.

My love for Korea stemmed from a love of K-pop and K-dramas that started more than a decade ago. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Korea both as a tourist and a student. I’ve accumulated interesting experiences (mostly good, occasionally bad) along the way as I try my best to see as much of Korea as possible, and this blog is an accumulation of all that I’ve learned and tried.
