Other than Biyangnol, another Jeju café that has been trending on social media is definitely Seogwipean Bakery.
You can easily spot Seogwipean Bakery from far away with the signature signboard – the entire building belongs to the cafe. Located in a quiet part of town by the seaside, you can already tell that the views in this cafe are going to be top-notch.


The interior is also very pretty! As we visited in January, they had kept the Christmas decor from prior months, which created a warm & cosy vibe.
Before I could continue marvelling at the decor, these immediately caught my attention!

They had SO MANY types of pastries to choose from, all neatly lined up in the most aesthetically-pleasing manner!! I was spoilt for choice and had a really difficult time choosing among all the treats they had available.
As you can roughly tell from the photos, their specialties were croissants (both sweet & savoury), cruffins, and bagels.
They had such a dizzying array of croissants that I almost walked away with only a tray filled with croissants – not that I’m complaining!


We eventually settled on a good mix of savoury & sweet pastries. These were paired with hot tea to wash down all those carbs.

Seogwipean Bakery is arguably more famous for its amazing sea views and lovely interior than its food. However, I would argue against this and say that its pastries are actually really worth the calories.
Their cookies were pretty ok – I did quite like the lemon one but the chocolate one was nothing much to shout out about.

Their savoury pastries though – whew!

I’m not sure if I was particularly craving carbs or savoury food that day. What I do remember is enjoying these pastries immensely because they were not only tasty, but also whets the appetite so I kept craving for more.
We wiped out the bagel, ham & cheese bread, and some cheese pizza (?) very quickly!
I did find the muscat grape croissant delicious in the first few bites, but the whipped cream started getting to me after those initial bites. Both my companion & I decided we couldn’t finish it and only focused on finishing the grapes.
The lovely thing about dining in Seogwipean Bakery is that the sea views here are simply so beautiful. Paired with these delicious treats and the cosy dining atmosphere (unlike Singapore’s noisy, boisterous, and tiny café spaces), and you literally have the best way to spend an afternoon in Jeju ahead of you.
Before visiting Seogwipean Bakery, I read a few other reviews saying that the food here tasted average despite being pricey.
To be fair, I’m not a big fan of their sweet stuff. But their savoury pastries are really worth trying! The fantastic views are also not something I can ever get back at home. Hence, as a tourist I do find that it’s okay splurging once in a while to enjoy these views along with food I find tasty.
Overall I would say Seogwipean Bakery was not bad – in fact I quite enjoyed my time here! I remember we stayed here for at least 3 hours, just enjoying the food and looking out of the windows. I would certainly return – but skip the sweet treats next time!
